Hope Island Bridge As-Built Detailing

GPR-led investigation of Hope Island Bridge to establish as-built detailing of concrete balustrades, slab zones, and beam elements for design support.

Scope

As-built detailing of two concrete balustrades and adjacent slabs and beams using GPR, with technical reporting.

Challenge

Engineers required accurate reinforcement and geometry information in locations where existing documentation did not provide sufficient certainty. The work needed to capture enough detail to guide intervention decisions without introducing unnecessary disruption to an operating asset.

Approach

SiteOps completed targeted scan coverage over nominated bridge elements and converted results into coordinated as-built outputs aligned with consultant requirements. Reinforcement location, spacing, and cover indications were presented in a practical report format for design use.

Outcome

The investigation produced reliable as-built detail for bridge planning and reduced design risk before intrusive works. The outputs improved confidence in intervention planning and sequencing.

Investigation data

Key findings

01

As-built reinforcement and element geometry were documented for nominated bridge sections

02

Scan outputs improved confidence in detailing assumptions before intervention works

03

Deliverables were structured for direct consultant and contractor review

04

The bridge remained operational while evidence collection was completed

05

Report findings reduced uncertainty around embedded reinforcement conflict risk
